Over the Hills

"Over the Hills" is another pastel.  The reference photo was one I took from the car window last fall.  The foliage was in the process of turning to the delicious yellows and oranges and the sky and distant trees, in contrast, were filled with cooler colors and layers of clouds.

The Beach and Beyond

Views of driftwood, beach grasses, and water and distant mountains are not difficult to find in the Pacific NW.  Still, they never fail to catch my attention and inspire me.  "The Beach and Beyond" is 5 x 7 and is pastel on Uart paper.

Happy Valentines Day

Since Valentines Day is often about flowers and represented by the color Red, I am posting my new image "Tulips Aglow." The colors of red, green, and turquoise kind of glow and vibrate together.    So feel the love!

February Return

I feel as if I have returned from a long journey, but actually I've been very much at home. In late January both my husband and I  fell under the spell of the flu bug.  It rather summarily made us into homebound zombies for a week and we are still getting back to normal activities.  I wasn't quite able to complete the 30 in 30 Challenge, but I'm getting back to the easel now and am ready to share new images.  This is an image which I used for an oil painting a few years ago, but cropped differently it is seeing new life as a pastel drawing.  It is called "Kalaloch Beach Revisited" and is 5 x 7 inches.
