December 2013

Currently I have artwork at three venues in the Puget Sound region.  If you are in the area, please stop by. My colored pencil artwork is included in the Miniatures and Small Masterpieces Annual Invitational Show at Tsuga Gallery (formerly Kaewyn) in Bothell, WA.  http://www.tsugafineart.com/blog/

The Women Painters of Washington Gallery in the Columbia Tower, 5th and Columbia, Seattle has a group show titled "Atmosphere" and I have 4 paintings included. http://wpwatmosphere.blogspot.com

Also, my friend Holly Jacobson has opened a refinished furniture store called Flourishings in the Bay Street Framing Store at 839 Bay Street, Port Orchard.  The furniture has been lovingly restored.  She is displaying my small 6x6 unframed oil paintings at the store. http://www.facebook.com/Flourishings

September-October 2013

Blue & Pink Hydrangeas - colored pencil
I have been remiss in not keeping the blog up to date, but I have been keeping busy.  During the month of September my artwork has been on display at Gallery North in Edmonds.  Gallery North is now in a new location at 401 Main Street.  The local Seattle chapter of the Colored Pencil Society of America (District Chapter 207) is having a group show there and is honored to launch the gallery for their grand opening today (Sept 15th).

I also have a new oil on canvas artwork at the Women Painters of Washington Gallery for our Fall Membership Show.  This gallery is located on the 3rd floor of the Columbia Tower Bldg. at 5th and Columbia, Seattle.  This is titled "Sunset Across Ostrich Bay."  We are lucky to have the opportunity to see this panorama looking toward the Olympic Mountains.  This painting will be at the WPW Gallery until the end of November.

May-June 2013

The month of May has been one of reflection and renewal for me as I've taken two workshops this month -- both using oil paint. The first was from Lorenzo Chavez and was focused on landscape composition.  Lorenzo was very generous with his knowledge and provided all of us with lots to think about and incorporate into our artwork.  The second workshop was with Dreama Tolle Perry and, for me, was an adventure into lots of color and looser application of paint.  Dreama provided lots of information and guidance and has planted lots of ideas for me to work from in the coming months.

In the meantime, however, my long time love of colored pencil will come to the forefront in a group show with District Chapter 207 of the Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA).  The chapter is having a show at Bellevue Art Museum in their Community Education Gallery.  If you are able, please come to the Opening Reception on June 7th, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Some of the artists will be demonstrating colored pencil application and artwork during the reception.

March 2013

Time for changing artwork to new locations.

6 new small oil/acrylic paintings are included in the Annual Miniatures and Small Paintings Show at Gallery North in Edmonds.  Lots of great paintings to create a group on that empty wall in your home!  Gallery address is 508 Main Street in Edmonds, WA and the show dates are March 1 through 29. Edmonds Art Walk is Thursday, March 21 from 5 - 8pm.  Link: Gallery North

Also two new pieces are included in the group exhibition, Anthology, at the Women Painters of Washington Gallery in the Columbia Tower Bldg, 5th and Columbia, Seattle.  The gallery is in Suite 310 and is open 11 to 4 on Monday through Friday.  The work of over 40 artists is included and will continue through April and May.
